Full HD Voice Codec

During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, experts from Fraunhofer IIS staged a demonstration the world's first phone call to LTE networks using the audio codec AAC-ELD (Enhanced Low Delay AAC), which provides Full-HD Voice quality.

Now the majority of cellular networks using encryption of sound in the band 3.5 kHz, while the human ear can perceive a range of 20 kHz. HD Voice Codecs class pass in the band 7 kHz, and Full-HD Voice encode and transmit the entire audible range is absolutely, so that the sound quality is now limited only by the microphone and speakers / headphones.

Currently, Full-HD Voice is already used in several systems, video conferencing, but the first time such a codec is integrated into mobile phones (on a platform of Android) and held a real conversation between them.
