Daily Recording - Daily timer resetting

In trying to record the same AM radio program daily from m-f I have come up with a minor glitch.

The next days program will not record if I leave the program minimized. For the next day to record I have to exit and then reinitiate.

Consecutive different programs will record with the program minimized to the tool bar.

Is this the way the program was designed or am I not setting things up right? I'm going to try to set up each days recording on a seperate line until I get an answer.
