Is a Mono MP3 file about half the size of a Stereo

Hi
We are using the software and it seems that when we use the option to record to MP3 there is no reduction (seemingly at all) between Stereo and Mono.

Is this expected ?

Yes, this is normal. Files size depends only from selected bitrate and non depends from mono/stereo.
When you select Mono you get better quality with same size.
