WaveCut Audio Editor

WaveCut Audio Editor is an enhanced version of our free audio editor for Windows. With increased speed and a multi-window interface, it remains compact and easy to use. Most basic operations are performed instantly without any delay. We spent a long time collecting suggestions from our users and made hundreds of improvements in all aspects of audio editing. In addition, the editor now supports many more popular audio formats.

Statistics show that 90% of users use only 10% of the software's features. Instead of adding a lot of seldom-used features, we focused on the most popular ones.

WaveCut Audio Editor

Fast, Really Fast

In most cases, processing speed is limited only by the speed of the hard drive. Waveform zooming is very fast, even if the files are several hours long. This is achieved through advanced caching, multi-core processor support, and advanced SIMD instruction sets. For maximum performance, it is recommended to move the temporary folder to an SSD or RAM disk.

Processing individual channels

One of the most important features is the ability to process each audio channel completely independently. In addition to applying effects to individual channels, you can copy data between them, delete/replace fragments and add delays. If you change the duration of one of the channels, the other channels will be aligned automatically.

Easy to use

Working with WaveCut Audio Editor is quite simple and does not require any special knowledge of audio editing. Since it is a non-destructive editor, all changes are easily reversible. You can undo changes for a few steps or start working with a completely unedited audio file.

High DPI aware MDI interface

The multi-document interface lets you edit multiple audio files simultaneously, place them side by side, and quickly exchange data using the internal clipboard. Don't worry about sample rate and channel count - the editor converts formats on the fly. All graphics are automatically scaled to look great on both traditional and 4K displays.

Supported audio formats

Load audio files in various audio formats including MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, AIFF, M4A, AAC, AC3, APE, MPC, FLAC, WV, OPUS, TTA, ALAC, SPEEX, DSD. Output formats: AAC, WAV, MP3, FLAC, WMA and Opus.

Basic Operations

Basic operations are performed in visual mode and allow you to manipulate sections of the audio file without additional processing. These include: Cut, Copy, Paste, Duplicate, Delete, Mix, Mute, Trim, Split. The main difference between these operations and effects is that they are performed instantly even on huge audio files and do not even require access to the hard disk.

Built-in audio effects

Apply various effects such as Amplify, Invert, Reverse, Fade In, Fade Out, Normalize, Insert Silence, Sampling Rate Converter, Low-pass Filter, High-pass Filter, Band-pass Filter, Band-stop Filter, Peak Filter, Low-shelf Filter, High-shelf Filter, Graphic Equalizer, Noise Gate, Smoothing, Limiter, Compressor, Loudness, Declicker. The number of effects increases with each new version.

Huge audio file support

Because the standard WAV file is limited to 2 GB, many sound editors cannot work with larger files. This can be a problem when working with high resolution audio and when editing movie audio tracks. WaveCut supports files larger than 4GB. The maximum file size is only limited by the available free space on your hard drive.

Never Lose Anything

WaveCut keeps the history of actions, so you can easily undo or redo any action. You can perform unlimited undo and redo of your actions or limit the number of undo levels to save disk space.

Customizable UI

Extensive customization options allow you not only to change colors, but also to use color schemes. Hotkeys can be assigned to any editor function.
