trouble getting Isound to record

Post by Rolman »

Hey folks.

I have been using the software for a while. Wicked stuff.

Anyway, I just switched to a new Dell Optiplex, and I cannot get a "level" when I hit record.

I have:
1) Updated my sound card driver (Soundmax HD Audio)
2) Checked to make sure that the right boxes are checked in the Audio mixer...

I am at a bit of a loss as to why I can't get this going...anyone have any ideas?

Did you select the "Stereo Mix" input?

Ttat may be part of the issue. I do not have "Stereo Mix Input" as an option. I have my sound card installed, and in Isound the only recording options I get are Line In, Microphone and Recordiong Control. I have a couple of other sound emulators but the options are no different. I can record from my microphone, just not stuff that is coming through my speakers.

You can use a "wire trick" - connect "Line Out" jack of your sound card to the "Line In" jack and select the "Line In" input in mixer settings.

I think my issues must be sound card related. This HDAudiomax that came with my Dell Ooptiplex is an integrated card. I think I will try installing an aftermarket model.

At risk of getting delgued with suggestions, what would you recommend sound card wise that are know to work well with Isound?
