The HEIC converter works great when I use it to convert HEIC photos to JPEG format. The converted files look great. It's a shame that the size doubles, but that's not the program's fault.
My experience as a photographer is well over 20 years old. This product is good at converting HEIC photos to JPG without image compression. I have tried a dozen different converters but they were all like twins and produced the same, but not very good results.
I'll give up one point for not fast performance. Processor load is far from the maximum, which means there is still room for improvement.
I've tried several desktop and online converters, but all of them decode only one picture from the file containing the photo collage, while individual photos remain inaccessible. I'm really glad that someone has made a full-fledged converter that extracts all the photos from the HEIC file.
After HEIC support was announced in Windows 10 I was surprised to find that Windows 11 was unable to open my photos. This is a shame for Microsoft. I was faced with the choice of rolling back to Windows 10 or looking for a comprehensive converter, as converting thousands of photos in an online service is quite tedious. The first converter from Aiseesoft failed to open more than half of the photos, and the same happened with the next two converters. Abyssmedia HEIC Converter managed to open all the photos, but after 10 test conversions I was still not sure if all the photos would convert correctly. Fortunately, the annual subscription only costs 10 quid, so there was little risk. In the end, only one file failed to convert, which turned out to be corrupted during copying. Great result!
