What sound card do you recommend?
Answer:
You can use any sound card: integrated, add-on card or external device (USB or FireWire). Sound Card should have DirectX-compatible audio drivers. "Stereo Mix" feature very appreciated.
What CPU you recommend?
Answer:
Real-time audio compression and filtering not required a lot of CPU power. i-Sound will work on any CPU starting from Pentium II 300 or better.
I can hear the music, but i-Sound records the silence!
Answer:
Note that i-Sound is not necessarily recording what you hear, because there are two independent mixers for playback and recording. Open Settings->Mixer and then choose the right record source and volume.
How long can i-Sound WMA MP3 Recorder record?
Answer:
i-Sound WMA MP3 Recorder can consecutively record for as long as you like without interrupt. Actual recording time limited only by free space on your hard drive.
When I start i-Sound, it says the device is busy!
Answer:
Half duplex soundcards: You have playback running in another application like Winamp or Media Player. You need to stop them first or you have to purchase a full duplex soundcard. Recording Internet Radio: Some streaming audio players additionally open the recording device (which they should not!). Solution: First start i-Sound, then the internet radio. You are recording in another program or another session of i-Sound is running, but: there can be only one!
The sound quality is very bad.
Answer:
There is a few reasons for bad quality:
  • Recording level is too high. Open mixer and decrease it to avoid clipping.
  • Low-quality compression. Open codec settings and increase bitrate/smpling rate.
  • Background noise. Muthe all unused sound card inputs (microphone/line-in/aux) to remove it

Program return "Can't find DirectSound compatible device"
Answer:
You may be able to convert your sound card to a DirectSound-compatible full-duplex sound card by installing the latest version of the sound driver for your sound card. Contact the manufacturer of your sound card to inquire about how to obtain and install the latest version of the sound driver for your sound card.

Once your credit card is accepted, you will receive an email confirmation of the order. A registration code will be emailed within 24 hours. If you have any problems please email us.
